The 2020 Genesis has received many awards across all trim levels!
The 2020 Genesis G90, G80, and G70 received the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS). This brand is the only one to have it's entire lineup win this award.
There are many requirements to win this prestigious award. They have to have a "Good" rating in the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. Also, they need an "Advanced" or "Superior" rating for available front crash prevention - vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations. Another requirement is to have "Acceptable" or "Good" headlights as standard equipment.
A lot of driver assistance features are available such as Lane Following Assist, Rear Cross-traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. All of these factors contribute to the Genesis' safety rating.
The 2020 Genesis G70 received the Good Housekeeping Award for Best New Family Car in the Luxury Sedan category. This is the second year in a row that it obtained this award. The editors of Good Housekeeping thought that the G70 was very fun to drive and has an exterior that will make people turn heads.
The Genesis G70 and G80 received the Women's Choice Award. This was based on several factors such as having several different exterior and interior colors to choose from, as well as three different engine options with great performance. The voters loved the convenience of the 3 years complimentary valet maintenance. The Top Safety Pick+ award was very important to come to this decision as well.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Genesis G80 a 5-Star Safety Rating. This rating is based off an evaluation of the vehicles performance during crash tests. This involves frontal, side, and rollover tests because the majority of crashes in America involve these areas.
